Financial cut off by Discovery bank

I am extremely disappointed with Discovery Bank due to their unjustified freezing of my account since February 17, 2025, and their blatant refusal to provide any explanation or meaningful communication regarding this matter.

Despite repeated assurances that I would receive feedback within three working days, I have been ignored, leaving me without access to my own funds. This is not only unacceptable but also a serious violation of consumer protection laws, including:

The Consumer Protection Act (CPA) – Discovery Bank has failed to communicate clearly, promptly, and transparently, depriving me of my right to understand and challenge their actions.

The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) – The bank has refused to disclose how my personal information is being used in this situation, limiting my ability to safeguard my data.

The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) – Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) Framework – Their actions completely disregard the principles of transparency, fairness, and accountability.

It is outrageous that a financial institution can seize a customer’s funds without justification and then refuse to communicate. I have escalated this matter internally multiple times, yet Mr. Dilondeni Singo and Johannes Kaarnek have continuously ignored my requests for transparency.

I am now left with no choice but to escalate this issue to the Ombudsman for Banking Services, the Consumer Protection Commission, and pursue legal action if necessary.

If you are considering banking with Discovery Bank, I strongly urge you to think twice. Their lack of accountability and disregard for consumer rights is unacceptable.

No one has called in weeks, despite my repeated attempts to reach out. The level of disservice is absolutely deplorable, I've never had such a ********** banking experience. You, Nkhensani, are nothing more than a pawn in this, standing there completely clueless and utterly speechless. A bank that is supposed to serve its clients clearly can’t even manage the basics, and worse, they don’t even care enough to try.

So, what’s your answer, Nkhensani? That they’ll definitely call? That's all you can say as a consultant? It’s pathetic. You’re just a mouthpiece for a bank that’s turned its customer support into a joke, making its employees, like you, professional ****s. I honestly feel sorry for you.
