EFT transfer fees? A complex situation.
So, overall I'm okay with Discovery Bank, it's a bank, I use it to pay.
However, each time I try and get specific information, I get sent around the call center and no-one really has the answers.
I am trying to determine how much I will pay if I EFT a certain amount from my credit card to my ABSA account. Should be a simple Rx per R1000, or similar. But no, the operators are not even close to giving me an estimate, so I have no idea what this transaction will cost me.
On the site, which I have found out earlier is a complete misinformation list, it says I will pay R2.50, regardless of the amount, right... (https://www.discovery.co.za/bank/discovery-card-fees).
Each operator however ensures me that there is interest on the amount, an "instant" cash transfer interest amount. This is what I want to know yes. How much is this interest? 0.5%? 5% 15% It will make a huge difference to me.
After spending half an hour on the phone with several operators, most of who cannot be contacted directly and you must (each time) start with the general contact number and be transferred all the way down the line until someone "should" be able to answer you. I still have no clue!
Discovery Bank: "I am transferring Rx from my CC to an ABSA account. How much are the fees for this transaction?"
Why is this so difficult? (hint, Discovery's own formulas with Vitality etc are so complex, the employees don't even understand it!)
Also, update the link above, instant EFT's are not R10, look at my statements if you don't believe me!
