Don't waste your time. They don't value their customers.
If you can help it, close your account with discovery and rather move to any other bank. I am in the midst of a dispute where someone reported me as being **********, now I understand the seriousness of this issue, however, discovery (as telephonically confirmed by a ***** department manager) values their relationship with random third parties and banks far more than that of their customers.
Don't get me wrong - I know an investigation is needed, however where Discovery fell short is when they started their investigation there was not phone call, no email, no ticket logged, and no reference given. The way I found out my account was blocked was when I tried to pay for my full tank of gas and my cards wouldn't work - that was a sticky situation to resolve. After spending over 40 minutes (with me admittedly being very upset) the only information I have gotten out of them is that they are investigating and during this process my accounts remain completely blocked, and no turn-around time can be provided to guide me in what to do next.
They can also not provide any form of contact information (email or contact number) for the investigations team in order to get more information.
The manager (Who wouldn't give me his surname and has a very popular South African name) "Rest-assured" me that accountability would be taken and that they will "Investigate" why I the paying customer has been left in the dark. This same manager "promised" me that someone would be in contact by the AM and that if someone hasn't I can report him (The same guy with the generic name and no surname). He also stated that he would send me an email with more information in terms of the standing of the account and what is happening, however, that has also not happened.
- So the moral of the story is that if you want to be in control of your account and actually feel like you are more than just a voice on the phone, don't ever make the mistake of moving anything to discovery. Once this issue has been resolved I will be closing my account and making sure that I never do any business with any department of Discovery again.
I am sorry this situation is unfolding this way.
I am probing my team for updates and I will provide feedback as soon as I have it.
