Do not try to open a Discovery account if you are a Business owner!!

Trying to open a Discovery credit card account - I'm a business owner and thus does not fall within you regular salary earning requirements. 99% of my expenses and accounts are paid via my husband's account and I thus draw a small salary from my business. I have been trying to open an account for more than a year now.

The first time I app**** i was declined because i did not have any current debt on my name. I have a long history of debt that i paid without any issues over the last 20 years of my life. But this was not good enough.

The second time I app**** was after I bought a new house and thus now have a fairly large joint bond with my husband on my name. I have asked the Discovery consultant what salary they would like me to pay myself to be able to apply for a credit card. The consultant went over my expenses and repayments and adviced on an amount which i then paid to myself from the business for 3 months. I re-app**** for a credit card.

3rd attempt declined. Now it is showing that my affordability is neg R13K Which does not make any sense but no one can tell me why it is that so that i can rectify it. The only thing that i can assume is that you are picking up the joint point's full payment in other words not the joint 50% portion on my name. But I've asked you to check it and come back to me and then no one ever phones me back.

YET - i receive numerous phone calls from your sales agents trying to get me to app**** for a " you have been pre-selected for a credit card" Some weeks i receive 3 of these calls. I'm so tired of going in circles with you guys.
