Do NOT bank with Discovery - INCAPABLE of closing and refunding accounts (now ongoing for 5 months)

I have been trying to re-close my account (which was originally closed close to 2 years ago!) since November 2019 (it is now March 2020). I have phoned them several times each month, and have re-submitted account closure forms and confirmed the account into which they must pay the remaining balance three times now. Each month, they assure me I will receive my refund, but each month, the account stays open and I have yet to receive my money. This is completely unacceptable, how is Discovery incapable of such a simple thing as closing an account and refunding the balance? And the irony is: The reason I want to close this account in the first place is due to pathetic service - which is apparently SO pathetic that I cannot even have the account closed.

I keep telling everybody to NOT make the mistake of banking with Discovery Bank or Discovery Card. They are utterly useless.
