Discrimiting conditions on Discovery card and vitality
I am puzzeled by how discovery say when attracting people to use their credit card, yet there is some kind of ************** in their conditions. I am a vitality member and I have a discovery credit card, based on my vitality status, I qualify for a discount when I book my flights, hotels and car rentals. I was told that I will also qualify for additional 10% discount when I pay my bookings with the discovery credit card, I took a discovery credit card for that benefit. Now I when I book the hotel, the additional10% discount for using discovery credit card doesn't reflect, I called the discovery call centre and this is the explanation I got: my claims for the medical aid are more than my spending on my credit card. The discrepancy here is that they check your 3months spending on your credit cards , yet they check 12months of your medical aid claims???? I gave birth a year ago and the medical aid claims were increased by that. Who can spend more than hospital fees on monthly basis? Now does it mean I can only benefit on discovery card only when I don't have children or when I don't give birth? I can only benefit from discovery card when I don't get sick? I can only benefit from discovery card when I don't get hospitalised ? Am I valuable to disco very only when all is well ? Yet am paying the rediculous interest rates, vitality, medical aid, life cover...all for what? Only to be recognised when all is well? I think the way discovery sells their products and their conditions are untruthful and have no integrity, they only benefit themselves.
Hi kmokhanya
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.
As discussed, you don’t need to spend more than you claim. Your claims has a bracket that establish what your category is and so does your average monthly spend.
We do apologise for the inconvenience caused.
Thanks
