I am experiencing considerable challenges in recognizing the benefits of the Discovery Bank Fast Track lanes at O.R. Tambo International Airport. Specifically, passage through passport control via these lanes consistently requires twice the time compared to standard queues. Additionally, I have observed a recurring issue where individuals who are late for their flights are permitted by Discovery personnel to utilize this lane, as was the case during my experience today, even if they are not Discovery Bank Fast Track customers. When I brought this to the attention of the attendant and her male colleague, their response was dismissive, stating, "it's fine, complain to Discovery." Following my complaint, they proceeded to discuss the matter loudly, actively soliciting support from other passengers in what appeared to be an attempt to publicly embarrass me. Fortunately, I remained unaffected by their actions, and several other individuals openly concurred that the fast track lane operates without proper regulation. To exacerbate the situation, despite Discovery's partnership with SAA, there is consistently no staff present at the Fast Track lane when SAA's Accra flight lands, which is a significant oversight given their stated collaboration. This recent experience has solidified my decision to cancel my Discovery Purple card and associated investments. If this level of inadequate customer service is prevalent in customer-facing operations, it raises serious concerns about the quality of service in back-office functions.
