Discovery Travel Booster Absolutely Useless!!!!
I activated my travel booster a few months ago and about to make a booking on my card so I called Discovery to make sure whatever is activated that needed to be is. I was then told by the call agent that my booster percentage is 0. When I question that she tells me that Ive been placed in the "Extreme Claim" catagory. Why? Because I claim from medical aid?????? Isnt that what a medical aid is for? Isnt that what you pay thousands of rands per month for???? She tells me that the booster encourages you to use your card and not medical aid. Please explain to me what medical aid is for other than to use it. Using a credit card is at your own discretion. Many people rather avoid debt than get into it so Discovery is essentially telling you to get yourself into debt rather than use benefits that you pay for on a monthly basis. This needs to be sorted out immediately before I take this further!!!!
Thank you for your comment.
Members of medical schemes administered by Discovery Health (Pty) Ltd with Discovery Card and on Vitality can boost their Vitality travel rewards discounts up to 50%. Your discount depends on your Vitality status, Discovery Card three-month spend, and your medical scheme claims level over the previous 12 months.
The benefit is not meant to force clients to not use the normal Discovery Health claim mechanism, but rather adds as a booster for people who do not claim often, hence it being a benefit which clients can opt into; and not a requirement.
Should you decide that this benefit does not suit your needs due to having a high claim level, then you may opt out of it.
Best regards
Rene
