Discovery refunds iPhone benefit but still *****s two payments.

After taking my money to fund the iPhone benefit and then allowing the benefit to be reversed and refunded, the bank writes me a letter explaining that I would get back the full amount of the iPhone that I paid, being R28499, and also the two installments I had made.

I was happy with this resolution.

Then what they actually did was refund me a lower amount for the phone and paid three amounts, the total of all of these adding up to R28499.

This means I lose the two monthly amounts they deducted from me.

I explained this to Chad at the bank and he said it is correct - they can’t refund me more than the value of the phone.

This makes no sense. They took the value of the phone plus two payments from me and refunded me only the value of the phone.

They ****** from me again!!

Whomever wrote the letter explaining I would get the phone refunded and my installments was clearly not the person making the refunds. I have written to them to say that they’ve made a mistake but as described earlier, Chad says they can’t refund me everything and that they’ve done all they can.

Definitely going to the bank ombudsmen now. These people are *******! Do not take up with iPhone benefit that you actually pay for yourself even though it’s “on them” - they falsely advertise and they ***** your money. Shame on you!!!!!!!!

Don’t bother responding unless you are going to honor the letter and refund me my two installments on top of refunding the phone.

Someone has made a mistake on your side with regards to refunding me. I originally paid 28499 for the phone and then two installments - 1701 and 1408.32. The letter says I will be refunded the original amount plus the installments, however the total amount refunded to me was 28499.

The letter I received from discovery bank said I would get back the original amount and additionally the installments I made.

But you refunded 23981.24 (instead of 28499) plus some additional refunds which all sum to 28499.

You still owe me my two installments.

I’ve written to the bank ombudsman.

But surely someone on your side can check the letter you sent me and compare against what was actually refunded to see that what you have done differs from the letter? And that you have stiffed me on two payments I made, which the letter says I would get back?

Please check the letter, check what you did, and fix the mistake please. That’s all I’m asking; look at what was done compared to what should have been done.
