Discovery Card *******
The Discovery Card account statements shows a 'due date' for settlement of the outstanding amount.
Their T&C's state payment must be received "on or before the due date shown on the monthly account statement".
There is no time stipulated in their T&C's, so if they have received the payment in full on the due date, they should not be processing a debit order for the minimum payment until the end of that day. But they process the debit order at 00:01 on the due date, instead of 23:59 on the due date.
They just dismiss my query and tell me to pay 1 day earlier than their statement due date. What is the point of a due date if you have to pay before that date?
How many thousands of customers do they ************ly get additional funds from each month? This must surely amount to millions of Rands. What a *******! They must be stopped.
Thank you for your comment.
Your payment needs to clear successfully by the due date to ensure that your debit order does not get processed. Due to payment processing you may experience delays in your payments clearing and due to this we advise that you make manual payments at least a day before your due date.
