Discovery card cancellation struggle

It is my second round now with Discovery bank to try to get my credit card cancelled. They keep on debiting fees and I keep on paying! You hold on for ages when you try to phone. Then I send an email on 28 Nov asking them to cancel the account as I am emigrating. Received a reply with reference number *** and another empty promise that someone will contact me the next day. I am desperate and really fed up. I will not recommend anyone to open a credit card with them.
