Discovery Bank Frustrations
I want to express my disappointment with the service I have received from Discovery Bank regarding my recent experience with changing my debit order details that still haven't been changed.
On August 11, 2026, I contacted your customer service team to request updates to my debit order, transferring it to a third-party account. Initially, I spoke with a representative who instructed me to send certain documents, which I promptly submitted within an hour. I believed this would be a straightforward process, but it quickly turned into an exercise in frustration.
After several days without an update, I called back and spoke with Thabo, who informed me that the process would take up to five business days. I found this timeline surprising, as such changes typically do not require an extended period. Nonetheless, I accepted this timeframe.
However, after the five business days passed without any changes, I called again and spoke with another representative. During this conversation, it was suggested that Thabo’s estimate of five business days was unusual, and I sensed a suggestion that I was misinformed. Furthermore, I was shocked to learn that the process could actually take up to six weeks to complete.
This inconsistency indicates a lack of communication and understanding among your consultants, which is quite concerning. Given my experience, I am seriously contemplating closing my accounts, along with any investments and medical aid associated with Discovery, and transferring to a more reliable banking institution.
I believe it is essential for banks to provide clear and accurate information and to execute requests efficiently. I hope they will address these issues internally to prevent similar experiences for future customers and resolve my quiry as a matter of urgency.

Thank you.
Thank you.
Now they have sent me documentation to switch my other accounts' debit orders to Discovery Bank.
This is not what I want.
I want to clarify that I do not wish to switch my other debit orders to Discovery Bank. My request is specifically to change the debit order for my Discovery Bank credit card to my Nedbank transactional account. The debit order is currently going off my Discovery transactional account.
Discovery, please ensure this change is made accordingly.
And please get it right this time around.
