Discovery Bank forcing their Discovery Card clients across to Discovery Bank even thought eh process is not working.
So, Discovery Bank are forcing all their Discovery Credit Card clients, that have been underwritten by FNB over the past years, across to Discovery Bank. Needless to say, you have to do all the joining and registering yourself via the Discovery Banking app, which does not work and is everything but user-friendly. The process is cumbersome and if Discovery are going to enforce the power they have to force you to join their bank, then they should do the process for you. Discovery card has all your details on the system, yet you have to do the process online via the app and once the primary cardholder has joined and is registered, it populates all relevant details about the existing credit card, even that there is a secondary cardholder, yet this process to apply for the secondary card does not work. Even with the Call centre agent trying to help, the process does not work. The primary cardholder's request for the secondary card, sends an SMS to the secondary cardholder, who then has to join the bank in their own right and register, but instead of the app populating the details to complete the application, the banking app wants to register the secondary cardholder as a primary cardholder and you cannot complete the process. On top of this whole mess, we have now received notification that there is a statement in the primary cardholder's inbox on the app, which is so small and almost unreadable, and informs us that there are already fees due by Jan 2020. We have not even received the primary card and cannot complete the secondary card application, yet we are already charged fees for not ever having used nor received our NEW Discovery credit cards and are still paying the monthly fees to FNB (Discovery) for the OLD Discovery credit cards. WE have not migrated yet across to Discovery Bank. This whole process is cumbersome, user-unfriendly and downright abuse of Discovery's power. I want to receive my credit card statement monthly via email as has always been the case and I can then print it out and verify the transactions against my purchase slips. I really do hope that Discovery Bank get their act together and make sure the app works the way it should - using us a guinea *** is unacceptable - why should we have to struggle with a cumbersome process. What do you say/do to clients that do not have a smartphone or access to the internet, data for online banking?? I find it unacceptable that we are forced to use only the app - I do not bank on my phone, only via my computer at home. Will you pay for your clients' data and smartphone and show them how to transact, especially your elderly clients. Discovery Bank should make its app is working 100% before going live and forcing clients into a process that does not work.
