Discovery Bank Disappoints

Discovery Credit Card is now forcing customers to take out a Debit Order to pay the Credit. This is most irritating - it means it is MUCH harder to deliberately pay less than the full amount above the minimum. Just another way to make life tougher for customers.

Hi Mike

Thank you for reaching out to us.

When you joined Discovery Bank, we presented the option to deposit your salary or set up a debit order. Since a debit order is required to service the facility monthly, you now being prompted to setup a debit order.

Thank you for making your regular payments, the requirement is that you need to set up a debit order or deposit your salary into the account. Kindly note that the debit order will not run, if you make credit card payments before the debit order date.

This is entirely unsatisfactory. Discovery Bank should not require a debit Order to operate the Discovery Credit Card. If you were at all interested in providing good customer service you will drop this requirement. It just shows you are not.

Please do not reply to this message unless it is to tell me this is changing.

I doubt this will happen because Discovery is too big to respond to customer requests and feedback.
