Discovery Bank Application frustration
Trying to apply for a credit card has been the most frustrating exercise! With great excitement I downloaded the app and started my application. This being nearly two weeks ago. When it came to uploading documents to substantiate my income, that is where the wheels fell off. I am a housewife with no monthly pay slip. I sent 3 months worth of two of my bank accounts to show I have a steady income. Who knows where these have landed up as I have had no response. If I need to substantiate further proof of income, I need to speak to someone other than a call centre person to know how to proceed. I seem to be collecting case numbers (101739, 101409, 100153) quicker than actually getting a direct response. I have spoken to numerous agents at the call centre with escalated promises that someone from their credit department will phone me at 8.15 am when they start work. Not a single phone call! Besides the email from the call centre acknowledging the receipt of my email with pdf documents attached, I just get the generic email say someone from Discovery Bank will contact you. Is this a fruitless exercise and should I just stick with the bank I have been with all my life? I belong to Discovery Health and have a Life Policy with Discovery. I was hoping that with all Discoveries promises of rewarding people for their good banking practices that this will at long last be a good “fit” for me.
