Discovery Bank – A Total Disgrace at Month End
Discovery Bank has once again proven to be completely unreliable. At the most critical time of the month, I am locked out of the app and unable to access my money. This is not a once-off glitch; it happens repeatedly, showing that Discovery Bank either does not care or is incapable of running a stable banking platform.
The silence is even worse than the failure itself. No SMS. No email. No warning. We are simply left stranded without access to our own funds. For a bank, this is beyond unacceptable, it is a disgrace. Month end is when debit orders run, salaries are managed, and bills are due. Failing at this time is negligence of the highest order.
Discovery Bank loves marketing itself as “innovative,” but what good is innovation if we cannot access their money when it matters most? Stop hiding behind glossy adverts and fix your systems. Customers deserve a functional app, proactive communication, and respect not empty promises.
I am seriously questioning whether Discovery Bank deserves to call itself a “bank” at all.
We sincerely apologise for the frustration and inconvenience caused. We’re aware of a current network issue affecting Vodacom and Telkom users, which is impacting access to the Discovery Bank app for some clients. Our teams are actively working with the relevant providers to resolve this as quickly as possible.
We understand how critical month-end access is, and we deeply regret the disruption during this important time. Your trust means everything to us, and we’re committed to restoring full service and improving communication around incidents like these.
