Deceptive business practices
I recently decided to cancel my Discovery Credit Card and Discovery Vitality. I made the decision because they canceled my lifelong contract to the gym because I didn't attend in the last year, although I went for an operation on my knee which puts me out of commission for a year and they paid for so are completely aware of.

On top of this I never used the credit card, in fact it had a positive balance of R750 for quite some time.
When I cancelled I asked the agent from their branch what would happen to the extra money I had in the account and they stated that I would fill in a cancellation form giving my bank account, which would then be credited with the balance

After two weeks of not hearing from them again I called to ask why the balance has not been paid. At this point the agent informed me that the amount was only R150. I argued and tried to access my last transactions via the site, but alas I had now been blocked from viewing my account details. I decided to just cut my losses and accept their findings on the subject, conceding that they could just pay the R150 they admitted that they owed.

It is now 5 weeks later and they still haven't paid me a cent.

Buyer beware
