Hello. I recently use a substantial amount on my credit card. The interest amount payable was high but was paid. The next month i deposited1/3 of my balance into my credit card and noticed that i was still paying the same amount of interest. WHY???? I suppose they do this to alot of people as many dont notice the interest been paid. Any good accountants that can relate and assist please?

Hi there,

Thank you for sharing your experience. We can understand why you'd be frustrated and looking for answers, especially after making a significant payment towards your credit card balance and then seeing what appeared to be a similar interest charge the following month.

Credit card interest can be more complex than it seems, as it may depend on factors such as when purchases were made, when payments were received, whether the balance was paid in full, and how interest is calculated over the billing cycle. That said, we appreciate that the amount may not have made sense from your perspective.

We will look into this for you and advise.

Regards,
