Credit card debt remains the same after not transacting for years with monthly payments made religously
I have a credit card with discovery that was opened in 2011. It was setup with a monthly debit order for minimum monthly installment. After not transacting on this card for years as well as monthly debit orders being paid I have only come to know now that this account is exactly at the same balance owed from 2011. The excuse made is that min monthly payments are only towards interest and card fees. I have been duped as a cash *** for so many years making a monthly payments that is not going towards the said debt. Pathetic an ************ business practice. No proper assistance from call centre.

As discussed, this is due to your debit order selection to pay 5% of your outstanding balance.
Your monthly fees and yearly subscriptions accumulates to more than the amount you selected to pay.
However, as per your request we will not cancel your Miles subscription.

05 Sept 2019, 11:41Hello Peter is even more effective than getting a response from Discovery than their own card complaints department, what a joke Discovery. Just a follow up. My card was actually opened in 2006.. so now I have been paying a minimum monthly payment from that time right up to this month only servicing annual fees as well as interest only. Blindsiding people and duping them to keep them in a cycle paying nothing proper towards debt so that only card fees and interest is paid. I will cancel all my policies I have had since 2006 as well as make sure everyone I know does the same. Very ********* which seems to be the norm from this company as you look at reviews and social media.
