Credit Card closing

I currently have a discovery credit card. Last week with the account not owing anything I then requested the card to be closed and they told me to pay R60 as a settlement amount and that settlement amount will be valid until 02 Feb 2026, but however if I make an immediate payment the account will be closed immediately. I went ahead made an immediate payment but still my credit card account is stilll not yet closed, instead when I reached out to them today they told me that they haven’t received payment and therefore they will continue to charge interest on my credit card account that’s suppose to be closed.
