Complaint Against Discovery: Poor Internal Processes and Support for a Genocidal Apartheid State

On 18 December 2025, I received an email regarding a donation attempt (S-TGDEHPRMT8) of R100.00 at 09:54, which was declined due to insufficient funds on my account ending ***2481, with the card ending ***6015. This left an available balance of R-4.04. I was also charged an insufficient funds fee of R5 as a result of this *****ulent transaction.

I contacted Sylvia to report the transaction as *****ulent, and she opened an investigation. Based on her feedback and due to internal investigation processes at Discovery, this matter could only be addressed by a ***** investigator. I requested to speak with one, but this was not possible due to Discovery's internal processes.

I then spoke to Kelly at 10:37 to close the account, but she was unable to do so due to the existing ***** case.

In summary, this complaint is raised to reverse the charge (R5) levied against the account for the *****ulent transaction and to close the account for two reasons:

1) Poor and inefficient internal processes on the part of Discovery Bank. 2) Earlier this year, Discovery Health hosted the Israeli Ministry of Health in South Africa. The president of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, was issued a genocide arrest warrant on October 20, 2023, by the International ******** Court (ICC). This warrant was issued in the context of Israel’s military actions in Gaza, which led to the merciless killing of more than 45,000 people, including 17,000 children and over 500 health workers.

It is a shame, and in my opinion, ********, that Discovery invited a genocidal, Apartheid state to South African s****s after the tragic history of apartheid. I stand with Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria in the boycott against Israel, as do millions across the world who have regard for Human Life and Humanity.

Therefore, this account closure is my dissociation from Discovery Bank, and the Discovery group which supports a genocidal, ******** Israel.
