Collection agents are not trustworty

I was retrenched and unemployed for 2 years. My Discovery credit card could not be repaid. When the opporunity arose I contacted Hammond Pole who are the collection agents appointed by Discovery. I spoke to the consultant and requested a settlement amount. She informed me that should I offer R20 000 as full and final settlement it will be accepted. I agreed had paid R5000 in already and we agreed that if I pay the balance of R15 000 the account will be settled.

She then contacted me and reneged on the arrangement and said that I should pay R20 000. This brings it to a total of R25000. I informed her that this was not the arrangement. Hammond Pole became very threatning and I requested transcripts of the recordings to seek legal opinion on this matter. I requested transcripts via phone as well as email. Legal wise also requested transcripts but were ignored for a period. They again requested transcripts and got a reply requesting the dates in question. This was the last Legalwise heard from them. I have spoken to numerous people at Hammond Pole and everyone promises to assist and then dissapear. The SMSes and calls from the call centre comes frequently but no one is prepared to assist.
