Cant close account

I have a discovery credit card which I had when I was in South Africa. I kept that card and account open when I moved to the UK as I might need this account in the first couple of months I was in the UK. I have since never used the credit card and required it to be closed.

I have now not been able to close this account for over 2 years. Discovery states I need to call them in order to sort it out, but I am unable to call them due to me being in the UK. I have also been locked out of my app and online account as I needed my SA number where verification was being sent to, but I do not have a SA number anymore and therefore have been locked out.

I have asked my Mother to contact Discovery Bank to ask for a email address or someone I can speak to in order to pay any money owed and to close the account but they refuse to provide this and state I must call as they are a "smart bank" and do not use emails, seems the opposite of "smart" to me.

All I am asking for is for a human being from Discovery Bank to contact me in order to settle the amount owed and to have my account closed, I feel they are intentionally making this process difficult in order to continue to charge me bank fees and increase the debt owed to them which is totally unacceptable.
