Better benefits with Card, not Bank, partners fall away.
Recently changed from Card to Bank, however were uninformed to how many benefits we would lose. When with card there was cash back, this was discontinued and changed to a miles multiplier which was still fine if you were using Discovery's partners. We were called and encouraged to join Discovery bank but never once advised as to all the benefits that would fall away. Now the partners have fallen away unless you are flying somewehere or buying healthy food at Woolworths. However new partners are continuing to be added to the card benefit which you cannot go back to if you have joined the bank. So we now get minimal miles on the bank but the partner stores and multipliers mean nothing to us anymore. So Diamond status is also now irrelevant. Also informed this morning that the previous offer of extra vitality points conversion to miles at the end of the year has also been discontinued. Cant believe we made this change now, wish we had stayed on card. Seems like great benefits also just change along the line.
I am also well aware of the miles backdate etc. You will see that my concern is actually the fact that we no longer have multipliers or partner rewards which would have been incredibly useful information for us to make this decision when we were contacted by your bank and informed that we should change because of the very good interest rates (agreed).
However we were benefiting far more with the partners and multipliers.
The current Lifestyle rewards are good, unfortunately somewhat unapplicable to the majority. So while we were sold on these, there was a serious neglect to tell us about what we would lose which are the benefits we liked.
Please read my concerns carefully it's not a lack of understanding what you have posted above but a lack of information on transfer to Bank and disappointment with the current rewards programme which seems to cater more for your members that have the finances to save and fly places.
So it would seem that now you have caught us and we have no choice but to wait for the exciting new options you are promising in the future....hope you are considering adding the Miles Multiplier back..just saying that they are way better and then you can reduce the flights for us if you like, fine with us and many others who seem to have figured out what has happened here after moving accross.
