Bank charges for failed payments

I made an international payment on 29th August 2025 and the beneficiary never received the payment. I noticed that the payment was reversed back into my account but not the bank charges. Why charge me R500+ for a failed transaction? I want my money back please. My reference is: ***9.

Good day Sean,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Please note that although this may be unfavorable to you, the transaction was actioned and processed. Due to this action, the necessary fees were processed and these fees may not be reversed.

Section B 116. Outgoing rejected transaction fees (of our Ts&Cs states the below):

a. Fees may be app**** to rejected, returned, or reversed outgoing transactions that are rejected by the
destination bank or by any of the intermediary banks for any reason, including not being able to process
the transaction due to foreign exchange or any other relevant regulation.
b. Fees may be app**** to rejected outgoing transactions that are rejected by the recipient at the destination
bank – when they refuse to accept the transaction for whatever reason.
c. These fees may be deducted from the payment amount that is being rejected. This means that a lesser
amount will be returned to the original paying bank.

I will attach the link to these terms and conditions below:
https://cms.discovery.bank/site/binaries/content/assets/assets/account-terms-and-conditions.pdf.

I will, however, log a complaint for you to acknowledge this complaint.

Kind regards,
Nosisa
