Account suspension during lockdown after arrangement made.
Due to being self-employed and income being affected during the COVID-19 national lockdown, I had to make an arrangement for the late payment of my Discovery Credit Card for the month of April. I called Discovery Bank two weeks ago and noted the arrangement to settle my payment first week in May.
Even though an arrangement was made, I tried to access funds on my Transaction account (not my Credit Card) and all transactions were declined. On contacting Discovery Bank I was informed that all my accounts have been suspended due to my Credit Card arrears payment (my account is ONE MONTH) in arrears. This suspension resulted in me have no access to the last funds I have during the lockdown and unable to purchase ANY essentials till my next payment in May. I fund the behaviour of Discovery Bank disgusting to say the least, especially when an arrangement has been made!!! Needless to say, I am closing my accounts.
