Absolute rip-off of a loyal ***,43 interest charged due to a short payment of 74 cents!

<p>I cannot believe the response I just got from Discovery on a query I logged re interest charged on my card. This is the response:</p> <p>The interest amount of R1 154.43 charged on your Discovery Card account was due to your 09 May 2016 statement balance not being paid in full.<br />On 09 May 2016 your statement closed at an amount of R40096.74, this amount was due by 03 June 2016.<br />During your payment period, you made the following payments:<br />• 30 May 2016 – R1 000<br />• 31 May 2016 - R33 000<br />• 02 June 2016 - R6 096<br />The above mentioned payments add up to R40 096, which means you short paid by an amount of R0.74.<br />For this reason, interest is billed on each transaction that makes up the balance from the time it was processed until it is paid up.<br />Interest is then charged on the account on the day that the statement closes. <br /> <br />I was charged R1 154.43, because I short paid 74 cents!! Come-on Discovery, this is absolute day light *******!!! <br /> <br />I can't believe I even got this response!!</p>
