Vincent de Agrella- shopping experience at this Northgate store is a living hell
On 25 May I visited Dischem Northgate, first to Self-Medication counter then proceeded to get a few items on the floor. I noticed a security guard on the isle where my son and I were shopping along. He went out of the isle and as we were walking out of that very same isle we bumped into him walking back into that isle, but when he saw us he did not go in but looked at us. At that point I realised that this is one of those unpleasant shopping experiences I get every time I am in that store, the difference this time was that it was a guy who is hired to do that job and not tall and bald guy who always does, but then I suspected that it’s possibly not the security’s prerogative, he was instructed to. As we were paying the same guard snooped by the till as I was paying. The guard proceeded to walk towards the door and by this time the sure-to-appear bald and tall guy who I now recognise now as the store manager, Vincent de Agrella was now standing by the door, looking and staring at us while we were walking out. I was tempted to ask him if he has a problem with me shopping at Dischem Northgate but because I was with my son I was not keen on such an interaction. As we walked out he looked at us in his intimidating usual manner. I need to state catergoricaly that this is not the first time this guy does this I swear every time I had visited Northgate Dischem he would be hoovering and hyper ventilanting around me. What shocked me and raised more concern was realisation that de Agrella seemed to think he knows me outside of his pan play. I’m basing this on the encounter while I was at the Checkers Money Markert counter. Anyway today I had decided that I would call the store before I take the matter further with Dischem group and afford de Agrella an opportunity to first state cause to his actions, perhaps he has valid reasons to flag me and hopefully his reasons are backed up by some evidence. I am aware that some brands do not take customers’ complaints seriously and possibly condone some managers’ actions like these who run their big business like their own ****a shops, but I am also aware that such managers are their biggest downfall. I’m hoping Dischem would take my complaint seriously, and if it is found that de Agrella’s actions are self-fulfilling and not in line with Dischem’s objectives address the issue. Unfortunately my attempts to reach de Agrella drew blank however I did leave a message on my third attempt with Gladys and he had not returned my call by business closure. However I am looking forward to de Agrella’s response and an apology where I deem necessary, so as to settle this matter hopefully once and for all in order for me to enjoy my shopping experience at Dischem Northgate with the utmost dignity I deserve and perhaps I could also save de Agrella the trouble of getting his heart beating fast every time I am in this store. I’m eager to see him playing his role as a store manager by making his customers shopping experience as pleasant as possible rather than having what I deem misdirected attention of playing a security role and a manager
