Vaal Mall Branch Complaint

Good Morning

On Saturday the 28th of January 2017 @ 11:58 i purchased 2 small white laced maternity bras at R199.00 each.

This is my first pregnancy and on my return home my sister told me that i bought the wrong sizes. When purchasing maternity bra's i need to look at 2 sizes bigger. I then returned to your store on Sunday morning the 29th of January 2017 (not even 24 hours later) to exchange the small for the medium. The packets were not opened as yet meaning the bra's was not removed, worn or washed. They were still in their original packaging and original state.

I was then assisted by your assisting manager who was willing to assist me after i pleaded with him to exchange the bra's as these were really expensive bra's. He did explain to me that it is not part of your policy to exchange underwear but he could see the items was un-touched and was willing to make an exception. As he leaded me to the counter the lady behind the till had a problem with him helping me to exchange the items and her very unprofessional response was "will we then be doing this for all the other customers" (The manar she said it in was really bad and not to be done infront of a customer. The assisting manager then changed he’s mind and said he is sorry he will not be able to assist me. I then told him that nowhere is there any notice on the slip or in the store of such policy. He then pulled out a tall silver sign from behind the counter first facing the wall and said "here is our notice" whereby i responded "how do you expect the customers to read this standing out of sight". With no response he then turned the notice to me and after reading the sign i told him that there is no mention of any policy about returning underwear. He's response was “yea well we all know that at no clothing store can one accept returned underwear". He is wrong, as long as the tag is still on the bra they do accept returns. You are not allowed to fit underwear.

Now I’m sitting with 2 bra's that i can do nothing with and i cannot afford another R399.90 until end February to buy 2 more bra's. Now how comfortable do you think this is for a expecting woman. This was probably the worst experience ever at dis-chem and the lamest excuse for not wanting to assist me. Your manager was not able to control a cashier or know if the signs on the floor are available for customers or up to date with policies and now i am still sitting with these bras! According to me i should have the option to exchange the products!

Monica - ********** 857
