Unacceptable stock management & zero communication on essential baby formula (Aptamil)
Dis-Chem advertises and supplies Aptamil baby formula products. Anyone with an infant knows how exhausting and delicate the process is to find a formula that actually works for a baby's stomach and digestion. After a lot of struggle, Aptamil was the ONLY brand that suited our child, and for a while, everything was fine. Then, stock on the shelves started dwindling. We initially assumed high demand from other parents, but after visiting multiple Dis-Chem stores, we discovered the reality: Dis-Chem is having severe sourcing issues and simply isn't restocking the product. What makes this completely unacceptable is the total lack of transparency and broken online system: Misleading Website: Dis-Chem continues to list Aptamil online. There is zero notice or warning anywhere on the website informing parents about stock issues, supply chain disruptions, or low availability. Inaccurate Stock Status: The website frequently displays "Low Stock" for a branch, prompting us to drive there in an emergency, only to arrive and find ZERO stock on the shelf.Indifferent Staff: When inquiring at multiple branches, we were met with zero empathy, unhelpful attitudes, and basic "sorry" responses—as if we were asking about a missing cosmetic item, not essential nutrition for a dependent infant. How do you justify leaving parents completely stranded without notice? If you advertised transparently or updated your system accurately, parents could make alternative plans in time instead of being caught in an emergency. You advertise that you stock this product. You fail to inform your customers when there are supply breakdowns, and your website stock indicators are wildly inaccurate. Shame on Dis-Chem for the lack of care and communication when it comes to infant essentials!
