Unable to get any assistance with online purchase

I received a GHD hot brush as a gift on Sunday 17 September 2023, which was purchased online from Dischem on 6 September 2023. I actually had wanted the Max hair straightener so I checked the refunds/returns for Dischem and saw that they have a 30 day policy and you can return in any Dischem store if purchased online.

I visited the Menlyn Dischem on 18 September 2023 and was advised that I need to go to Dischem which has a salon as they don’t have the item on their system.

I visited Dischem Centurion today and was advised that I must deal directly with GHD. I was provided a customer care number, which I have called numerous times but no answer. My friend that purchased the GHD hot brush e-mailed Dis-Chen and was advised that Dischem no longer carries the GHD brand and that I can return the item at any Dischem store, which clearly is not the case as I have been to two stores and no one was able to assist me.
