I took my son for his 14 week vaccination at Dischem located at Retail Crossing Shopping Centre, Cnr Hendrik Potgieter and Nic Diederichs Boulevard. The service provided by the sister on duty was pathetic, he administered the first injection with no issue as I held my son completely still (this is how previous nurses directed me) as he prepared to administer the second shot, he poked my son in the leg, then pulled the needle out and continued to administer the second shot. He apologized and we left. I spoke with the store manager and she put me through to head office with a gentleman that didn't assist me at all, I then asked to peak with his immediate supervisor "Clinic Admin Manager" and he/she blatantly told me that I was at fault by not letting that male nurse take full control over my 14 week old son. After telling the nurse that I would like to hold my son the way I've been shown how to by previous nurses, he had no issue, but he did not say that to his managers. His managers told me that the nurse will go for training after my initial complaint. My wife and sister were in the room and witnessed everything and this means nothing to Dischems staff.

The male nurse also wrote in the incorrect spaces in my sons vaccine booklet leading my wife and I to worry about whether our son received the right vaccination. This second issue has also been shrugged off by the Clinic Admin Manager. I am concerned not just for my son, but for new parents as well. Please think twice before taking your babies to this store, consider the risks your baby will unnecessarily exposed to as well as the service you will receive.
