RUDENESS AND UPROFESSIONALIM AT DISCHEM MAFIKENG

My name is Thebe, and I would like to formally complain about the rude and unprofessional service I received from an employee named Jabu at the Mahikeng Dis-Chem branch on 20 May 2026. Upon arriving at the pharmacy section, I joined a queue where another customer was already being attended to. At the time, there was no employee behind the counter. While waiting, I politely asked the customer in front of me whether I was standing in the correct queue. She indicated that she was also unsure, as the signs distinguishing the prescription and self-medication queues were not clearly visible. Another customer behind me then mentioned that there was only one queue. A few minutes later, another lady arrived and appeared ready to move ahead of us. I politely informed her that, according to what we had been told, there was only one queue and she would need to join behind me. Upon hearing this, Jabu loudly accused me of “*****ing the name of Dis-Chem” by giving the customer incorrect information. I was shocked by the manner in which he addressed me, especially considering that I was calm and simply trying to assist based on the information available at the time. As I was not feeling well, I chose not to respond or argue. This was my first visit to the Mahikeng branch, as I usually use other pharmacies. Unfortunately, the experience left me deeply disappointed. Customers should be treated with respect and professionalism, particularly in a healthcare environment where people may already be unwell or distressed. I strongly recommend that Jabu receive training in customer care and anger management, as this type of behaviour can negatively affect the reputation of the branch and discourage customers from returning. I am available to further discuss my experience in person if necessary, and I am also willing to share my experience publicly should the matter not be addressed appropriately.
