Rude store manager

I am very disappointed at the service I received at Dischem in Hazeldean, Pretoria today, 20 July 2021.

I was looking for Nivea Q10 lotion 400ml. It was placed on the shelf with the rest of Nivea’s 400ml lotion range with a price of +\- R54.99 displayed. Next to that shelf was the Q10 range that also had the a row of Q10 400ml . However, the pricing displayed below was for the cream not lotion and it was 200ml not 400ml.

I requested assistance from 1 of the store staff members whom I showed the error to. The Q10 400ml lotion was priced at R54.99 not the normal price. The assistant called the store manager Micheal Britts, who dismally failed to resolve the issue. He was defensive even when I asked that he then shows me the correct price for the 400ml Q10 lotion and he showed me the 200ml cream price, clearly taking me for a fool! Being in retail myself I’m very aware of my rights as a customer. I pay what is displayed as I’m not liable for the store’s mistake.

In the end he requested the assistant to go print the correct price, clearly admitting to the mistake but he did not acknowledge it to me as a customer and he expected me to pay a price that was not displayed anywhere. In his own words “this does not have a price” how? When there’s a price of R54.99 displayed below it? I ended up leaving the store without purchasing the lotion because of his defensiveness.
