Revoke her annual mandatory salary increase...SHE DESERVES A PROMOTION THAT COMES WITH A SUBSTANTIAL RAISE!
As the title suggests, " describe your experience" I'm going to do exactly that and just say WOW!!!Allow me to elaborate... I was in dire need to acquire medication that was prescribe to me is I thought I was going to die...yes...you guessed it...hayfever!!!I searched far and wide and the only responses I was getting was, "sorry sir, we are out of stock."Now imagine my frustration because remember,I was "dying."Now this is where things changed and I actually get to the point. I happened to be in Cavendish Square, Cape Town and remembered that there's a Clicks, together with a Dis-Chem pharmacy. Went to Clicks and again, "sorry sir...bla bla bla" and that was when the frustration eventually boiled over and I had to go sit down and have a beer, or two, or 3. As I made my way to the parking, I saw Dis- Chem in the distance and thought, "what the hell...why not...I am use to the rejection already...I'm prepared for the...sorry sir bla bla bla"...so I get to the counter and everything changes (grab your popcorn)... I approached the counter and a very young lady by the name of Carla Taljaard welcomes me. Very friendly and polite and in all attempts to hide my grey hairs not to give away my age and look 20, she greeted me with "good afternoon sir, you don't look to well today, are you OK?How may I be of assistance for you today?" At that point I wasn't sure if that was the beer talking or her but I responded to her questions.I told her my ordeal up until present and she was very sincere to my plight but I could tell she was trying to subtly deliver, without any malice, the "...sorry sir..." at which point, I gulped, deeply as if to say..."yes please, chop off my head right now"...as the anticipation grew, she delivers the line and as I'm on the brink to let the f-bombs run...not at her specifically but because I didn't again get what I needed, she follows up with a "...don't worry sir...we have placed an order and I can reserve one for you..."...deal breaker right there!!!I was in awe...couldnt believe that this was the ONLY pharmacy that gave me OPTIONS and irrespective of the time frame, I was going to get what I needed. She explained the entire process, took down my particular's and PROMISED to keep me abreast of proceedings.I left, feeling a bit better but I must admit, very sceptical because she could've sold me lip service because let's face it, customer service in SA sucks...BIG TIME.Oh...I forgot to mention, she gave me, what looks like a business card and said should I have any queries and can call "that" number and ask for her.Again, points scored.I anticipated to probably get an email on the day the stock arrives or worst, I will have to follow up myself because remember, she could ve sold me "lip service" but that wasn't the case.I received emails as events was happening, not once did I have to email her to ask what's happening with my order and she had the decency to let me know that there was days when she's not on "email duty" and she won't be able to reply immediately to any emails I might have sent.I only counted one day and that was it...Carla Taljaard was back the next day. I had peace of mind because my attention shifted now from... "I don't have to worry anymore...I'm getting my medication" to "****** hell...this is to first time I've received such impeccable service ANYWHERE!!!" It was then "d-day"...time to collect. Now remember, she knows me via email correspondence, forgot my face from the first encounter in all probability because she attends to many customers on the daily. It was a bittersweet moment for me because yes, I'm getting my medication but there'll be no more emails so the sequence of events played down in my head was like, "you'll get to the counter, get your stuff, told thank-you for shopping at dis-Chem...bla bla bla"...but AGAIN...not the case. As fate would have it, I get called to the counter and who happens to assist me, Carla Taljaard.Friendly and polite as ever!!!Bear in mind she still doesn't know who I am in the physical being until I gave her my name and surname...her face lights up, as in relieve and she introduces herself, welcomes me and shakes my hand...like I'm about to sit down at the VIP table...unheard of right???My order was ready to be collected, she advised me as to where the nurses station is, engaged in conversation unrelated to this entire situation and wished me a speedy recovery. Now to conclude, to often we are prone to complain about bad service and will go to great lengths to drag an organisation's name through the mud which I have no qualms about. We do however not spend the same time commending impeccable service, sometimes second to none. How do you think I felt after this...I drove pass 3 other Dis-Chems in closer proximity to me but Cavendish Square, more particularly Carla Taljaard blew me away with her promptness, efficiency but most importantly, her attitude and personality. I also need to make mention of the nurse on duty, Tercia Ford, who was just as helpful, informative and very friendly. I can't stress enough how impressed I was by this service because it wasn't expected to begin with and she showed such a keen interest for just another customer. Keep up the good work Carla and Tercia. My shopping experience was delightful to say the least...aside from parting with my money, hahaha...but it didn't matter because your turned my "...sorry sir..." into a red carpet experience.Enjoy your day off Carla...well deserved and I hope management sees this post.I wish you well with all your future endeavours
