Post Basis Pharmacy Assistant lack of Knowledge

I went to my local Dischem (Hazeldean Pretoria). Asked for my repeat script for Venlafaxine. A post-basic Pharmacist assistant helped me. She said they do not have stock of the generic. I asked for Effexor, she said that is used for allergies and not the same thing. Me (the patient) had to tell her that this is the same thing. How can a post basic pharmacist assistant not know her drugs and also be allowed to give advice and dispense S5 drugs? This is ridiculous. It is scary how little they know but they should help us with our health? I also asked if she could make up the 225mg strength with separate Effexor's - she said no, she can't do that? Since when? I know that Dischem is not employing Pharmacists as they are deemed too expensive so now we (the consumer) should just be OK with suboptimal service. I will take all my scripts away from Dischem.
