Pathetic customer service

The dischem at carnival mall has just lost quite a few customers. On Sunday I was out at a sporting event and it was absolutely freezing, I went to the "trusted" dischem to buy a blanket, one blanket, that is all. I checked on Google if they were open and it said they close at 16:00. It was only 15:15 when I arrived and had the door promptly slammed in my face by the security guard. I explained the situation with difficulty as he would not even open the door to speak to me. I eventually convinced someone in the store to fetch the manager, this in itself was virtually impossible as all the cashier's, and the rest of the stores staff was ignoring me as well. The manager came to me and told me I was wrong, I explained that the website said I have at least another 45 minutes to which he said no I cannot come in to buy the one simple blanket as there were not pharmacists. I do not understand why I needed a pharmacist to buy a blanket? There were plenty cashier and still customers in the store, I do not see why the staff had to be so rude and disgustingly when the logical response would have been to just let me in for 2 minutes to buy my one blanket. I am absolutely appalled at this service and disgusted with the way I was treated.
