Misleading / False pricing

Dischem Carnival Mall - I went online to search for a electric blanket which I needed urgently (within the hour). Went onto dischem website showing a price of R299 for single blanket. Had to pass the shop so could collect on my way. Got in store, took the blanket and showed a price of R359.99. Thought once my reward card was swiped the discount would apply. It was not. The cashier Neo which assisted me didn't know so she called the senior cashier walking around. They looked at the price I showed them which is advertised on their website. She (supervisor) told me rudely that is only online price?! I asked to show me where it states that? No answer - she left to client service to come talk to me. They also said only online and left. Eventually the store manager came to talk to me saying we can resolve it. Purchase it online and just take it from the store. What is the point of the store???!!! I did try and do it online with the manager standing there but their payment system didn't work. I said just overwrite the price on the system and I was told they cannot do it anymore. So wouldn't help anyway even if I tried to buy online. Where have you heard that nonsense. NOWHERE does it say online price is *** and store price is ***. What is the point of the store if I quickly look for a price of an item, go to the store and then find out the price is not that. How do you find products from a shop if everything advertised is wrong? How many people are caught like this? Older people that dont know and need medication and you come with a rude story of online prices. They wouldn't know how to do online purchases anyway. I purchase most products online from various places. Please take a lesson from a supplier like Makro which states their products clearly that it is online and retail. That is why I wouldn't buy from them again - conning people and then trying to play it off like people are *********** and cannot understand what online is. Truly a disappointment from where Dischem started and where they are now.
