Loyalty program upgrades deactivated my card.

On Saturday I went to the Dischem to purchase a few items. After waiting in the endless end of the month queue I got to the front. I asked the cashier to deduct my Loyalty points I have been saving. She then told me my card was deactivated. I asked he how that was possible? She and her manager confirmed that their system was upgraded and if it showed inactive, l need to go to the info counter. Reluctantly I went to the info counter to sort Dischem's poos development s****s out. At the counter, the lady asked for my details. I asked he, which details she is looking for and I gave her the details she was looking for. After entering the details on the system, she then proceeded to ask for my ID number. Since when do you require my ID number for a "Easy and fast" loyalty program? She said the system won’t save my profile if I don’t provide it. I gave her my ID number and then it still didn’t want to save my details. She then stated she needed to call their Head office. After 5 minutes on the phone, the card was activated.

I would like Dischem to explain what happened with the upgrade that I needed to waste 30 minutes of my day to activate my card, YOU deactivated due to poor planning, testing and implementation. I would also like confirmation that the R6000 00 spend at Dischem this month’s points was loaded onto my card as I don’t know since when it was deactivated.
