Irrate and disappointed customer lost for good

Yesterday 14 June 2020. I returned a humidifier to the Johannesburg Westgate Mall Dischem. At the returns counter the lady took my slip and advised that my warranty was 1 year and I missed the due date by 2 weeks. A product that costs over R1000. I wanted to know what do I do with the product now as I have a 1 year old baby sick at home and bought the product and only used it twice. She then apologies and called her store manager SCHALK LOOTS. As I was trying to explain my issue he cut me off and advised there is return policy in place and im just doing my job. He pointed to the policy and raised his voice. At this point I asked him to please stop shouting and his reply is" I'm telling you the policy and I need to follow it, you just don't want to hear it" I then asked him his name and he gave me attitude yet again. I then requested his manager's name and he said"im the manager and don't report to anyone" I then said, you must report to someone!" only then he gave me his managers name Ivan Saulzman when I asked for a contact number is was told "I REFUSE". I asked him again are you refusing and he again said yes, he even told the returns lady "please take note, I refuse and she can write it down". At this point his voice was so loud that the customers in the store even looked over. I felt so humiliated and nearly had tears in my eyes from the way I was treated as a customer. As a customer service Manager myself I was appalled at the service and the approach towards a customer. He didn't even bother to open the box to see what was wrong with the unit. As I was talking he just walked away. How disrespectful and disappointing. You have lost a loyal customer as a result.
