Going the extra mile

A few weeks ago I tested positive with COVID. It was really difficult getting medical attention living in Bloemfontein alone. There was either hostility and inefficiency when I dealt with various medical personal and institutions. Or I was treated like I’m not sick enough/ “making it up” when they would hear I’m fully vaccinated. But my symptoms were severe and the lack of care was making me depressed and my symptoms worse.

This all turned around when I started dealing with the Langenhoven Park Dischem team. There was one particular lady who was handling the online/over the phone deliveries. I’m so sad now that I didn’t ask for her name because she was honestly so amazing. She wasn’t only great at doing her job and ensuring that things got delivered to me safely, quickly and effectively, there was also so much kindness and caring in her voice. She really touched me and I am so grateful to her. Thank you thank you thank you.
