DISGUSTED!!!! I WANT MY SON'S WINTER CLOTHES!!!

I am writing to formally lodge a serious complaint regarding my treatment at a Dis-Chem store on 30 April 2026 at Dischem Branch Canal Walk. The incident involved a false accusation of theft, an inappropriate search of my personal belongings, and the loss of my property.

While shopping for toiletries, I was accused by a Lady staff member(Staff controller) of *****ing an item that had inadvertently remained in my trolley and was not paid for. This was an honest mistake, and at no point did I attempt to conceal the item or act dishonestly. Despite this, I was subjected to humiliating treatment in-store.

During the incident, a staff member took possession of my son’s paper bag containing clothing items under the pretext of searching it. This bag has not been returned to me, I had to drive all the way from Eerster river to go look for my son's belongings and we all know the issue with petrol in this economy. The removal and failure to return my personal property is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns.

Although the store manager later acknowledged that this was a misunderstanding, the staff member continued to accuse me of intentional theft. This conduct was not only unprofessional but also defamatory and degrading, particularly as it occurred in a public setting.

I wish to highlight that, under the Consumer Protection Act, I am entitled to fair, reasonable, and respectful treatment as a consumer. Furthermore, the manner in which I was treated may constitute a violation of my dignity and rights, as well as potential ******** handling of my personal property.
