Dischem Richards Bay Inkwazi-Utter Rudeness from the Teller

What I experienced today at dischem Richards Bay Inkwazi mall is beyond poor customer service , it’s total rudeness! In my 9th month of pregnancy I gathered enough strength to go get few items I need before delivery. I get to the till one of the items does not have a barcode, the teller literally throws the item to the side and says no barcode. I got confused because in other shops, the staff will go get the barcoded item. Gentlemen proceeds to ask me to pay, now I obviously tell him I need all the items I was buying and he looks me dead in the eyes and tells me to go get the barcoded item if I need it. We go back and forth with this guy telling me it’s not his job to get a barcoded item and that’s how things work around here.

Luckily I was with my younger sister who went on to get the barcoded item while this guy was busy explaining why it’s not his business that the item is not coded.

I still can’t believe that this gentleman expected me to be the one going back to find a coded item in my heavy 9 months of pregnancy. The way he was speaking to me with such rudeness.

Duschem Richards needs to revisit criteria for staff that they employ. People who are rude, insensitive and disrespectful must not be employed to work with people let alone the fact that it is not a customer’s problem that your staff packs items without putting a barcode on them.

My entire day was ruined!
