“DISCHEM: PHARMACISTS WHO CARE”… NOT

Dischem marks a product down, yet charges the full price. I complain. They issue a voucher for the overcharge… and then give me the middle finger when I try using the voucher.

This is how it happened.

I buy a product marked down from R535.00 to R401.25.

They ring it up at R535.

When I complain they give me a slip showing the price I paid and the price I should have paid.

This, I am told, is my voucher.

I subsequently attempt to cash this “voucher”… and am told it is invalid; I “was given a voucher” and I need that “voucher”, not the slip.

Now I am neither senile nor incapable of understanding a simple instruction: I WAS GIVEN A SLIP AND NOTHING ELSE.

Yet nothing I do will get Dischem to budge. They state “camera footage shows I put it in my pocket”. Such “camera footage” will indeed show me putting something in my pocket: THE SLIP, BECAUSE THAT IS ALL I WAS GIVEN.

I complain on Dischem’s “contact us” link once.

Ignored.

I complain on Dischem’s “contact us” link a second time.

Ignored.

Clearly they have no intention of bothering to even reply.

Frankly, they can shove their R133. It’s not about this relatively insignificant sum; it’s about treating customers like *******.

Dischem.
