Dischem NOT caring for the community.
Good day. I want to report Dischem Pharmacy in Langenhovenpark, Bloemfontein. I had to immunize my 12-year-old son a week ago. I were at my GP and got a prescription of the vaccines. I went to my pharmacy on Sunday to get the necessary vaccines. The vaccines were issued to me and claimed from my medical aid. The Pharmacist put the vaccines in a polystyrene container with a freezer bag. His instruction to me was "please put the CONTAINER in the refrigerator". I was never told to take the vaccines out of the container and then in the refrigerator, therefore I stored the CONTAINER in the refrigerator just like that. When I came to my GP on Monday for my son to be injected, however, the vaccines were not cold enough. So the Dr. couldn't vaccinate my son. She immediately called the Pharmacist and he said they would take the vaccine back and write it back against the medical aid. The next day the pharmacist called me and said they MUST claim the vaccine (which was unsuitable) from the medical aid. It's not their fault that the vaccine didn't stay cold. In other words, the medical aid now pays for vaccines that were unsuitable due to incorrect instructions from the pharmacist. And then I have to get new vaccines that will be claimed again from the medical aid. So I pay double because of wrong instructions. They are not living their motto "Caring for the community"
