DisChem doesn't want to exchange faulty cream

I purchased a canister of one of DisChem's creams on 15 February 2015 at their store in Montana North as a small gift for my daughter-in-law. When she tried to use it, it was found that the nozzle didn't work. My son then proceeded to DisChem Woodmead (his place of work) the next day in order to exchange it. <br> <br> They refused and informed him to exchange it at the store where he bought it. Is this their policy? What if I lived in Durban and bought it in Pretoria and went back to Durban before I could use it? Must I now throw it away or pay a courier to bring it to Pretoria or pay postage fees because I can only exchange it in Pretoria?<br> <br> It might only cost R63.95 but for the average South African, it is a lot of money to waste.<br> <br> What doesn't make sense is that you can refill a prescription at any DisChem store across the country but NOT exchange faulty goods. DisChem, please explain this to me.
