Disappointing and unprofessional experience
I have been visiting family in Mossel Bay for over 20 years, and I’ve always praised the local staff for truly understanding what customer service means. Unfortunately, my recent experience with a pharmacist at Dischem named Nicole Barnard was a shocking departure from that standard.
I had forgotten my chronic medication at home and was out of repeats. I requested a 7-day emergency supply to buy me time to contact my doctor as it was the day after Christmas. While the assistant was helpful, Nicole’s intervention was rude, spiteful, and incredibly arrogant. When I politely asked if 5 days was possible to bridge the gap, she came out and dismissively told me to "take it or leave it," claiming that by law she could only provide three days (despite initially offering four).
The most unprofessional moment occurred when I agreed to the 4-day supply; Nicole interrupted, told the assistant to "make it only 3," and walked away. It felt retaliatory and spiteful. It’s disappointing to see a leader set such a poor example for her staff, especially in a prominent holiday destination like Mossel Bay. Dischem, this is certainly not the representation your brand deserves.
