Dis-Chem is completely inconsistent.
I shopped at Galleria branch yesterday to buy a nasal spray, throat spray and Myprodol syrup. I was told that Myprodol syrup can only be sold on prescription, I was very surprised, as I buy this at Dischem in Centurion and our local chemist without a prescription. I told the lady behind the counter, she said that they could get into trouble, because the law says they cannot sell Myprodol syrup without a prescription. I asked her to show me the law, she became highly annoyed and said that is the law. I asked her to call the Chemist on duty, and a bald man came to the counter and told me that he cannot sell me Myprodol syrup because I need a prescription. I phoned my Chemist in Centurion and asked him if the law has changed, he denied this, the Chemist asked to speak to him. He had a conversation with the man and then instructed the lady behind the counter to check my history, if I bought Myprodol syrup from Dischem before she could sell a bottle to me. She looked on the system and said I never bought this from Dischem! She became very rude and abusive, I told her that I would take my business elsewhere and walked out. I bought a bottle at Winkelspruit Chemist without a prescription.
