Dis-chem Durbanville : Appalling Patient Treatment and Lack of Customer Centricity
I visited the Durbanville Dis-chem Pharmacy today 20th Mar-21 to obtain my scripted Medication, as I’ve done for the last 5 years. A bit of history, I have been taking the scripted medication for more than 10 years and have been obtaining my script medication from Dis-chem Pharmacy to date. 8 months to date I relocated to Cape Town to commence new employ. For the eight months to date I have been obtaining the scripted medication from Disc-chem Durbanville. My Medicross Doctor had provided me with a 6 month script on the 30 Aug-20. I went to the Durbanville Dis-chem today to obtain my scripted medication from the Pharmacy. I was greeted by a very cold female Pharmacist. Upon providing her with my details to obtain my scripted medication, she verified same and reverted that my 6 month script had expired. I requested the respective Pharmacist if it was possible if I could obtain a few days’ supply (as I could then request my doctor to provide me with a new script on Tuesday, as it was a long weekend). My script had previously expired in 2020 and the Male Pharmacist at Durbanville Disc hem provided me with a 5 day supply (as he verified my medical aid membership, he took into account the period I have been on the medication, the doctor from Medicos that had provided me with the script, my history of taking the medication and the history with Disc-chemo). This respective Pharmacist was cold and arrogant and would not hear a thing I had to say, and point blank refused me any assistance. At this stage I was very disappointed by the way I was treated as a patient and a long standing customer of Dis-chem by the respective female Pharmacist. I then requested her name, because I was going to escalate the matter. She refused to give me her name, informing me in a loud tone that she is unable to assist me. At this stage I again requested the Pharmacist to provide me with her name, she arrogantly pulled aside her white coat to show me her name badge. I did not have pen or paper on me, and attempted to take a pic of her name badge, she raised her voice at me and rudely informed me that she doesn’t approve of me taking a pic of her badge. By this time respective Pharmacy staff gathered in camaraderie as if this Pharmacist called Nicolette was the victim in this matter. I am so disappointed by the treatment I received from this Pharmacist called Nicolette and the Durbanville Dis-chem respectively, that they can treat their patients and customers in this way, seeing that all I required was my medication. I would appreciate if the footage could be viewed to see the harsh treat I experienced at Durbanville Dis-chem. I had no choice but to revert to Durbanville Clicks Pharmacy, who called my doctor and requested that he fax through my script, just so that I could obtain my medication, I then ask the question, should Dis-chem Durbanville not have done this for their long standing client?
