Dis-Chem Cresta Abusive Staff

I had the misfortune of having to collect my Chronic Medication from Dis-chem Cresta earlier this morning.

On entering the store I was accosted by Security who wanted to spray my hands with an alcohol based hand sanitiser. I refused as I have had blisters and rashes from being sprayed with all different types of sanitisers.

After entering the store and waiting in line for approximately 10 minutes the security guard brought the Manager who insisted that I spray my hands, I told him that I do not have a problem with it, as long as it is an Eco-based product and does not contain alcohol.

He told me no problem and that he would be back with a suitable product, a customer behind me suggested that he give me gloves which I also didn't refuse.

By the time he returned I was already busy with the Chemist, who did not sanitise his hands prior to dealing with me, or when he handed me back my Dis-chem card.

He then told me that I was being difficult and that If I refuse to spray my hands with alcohol they wouldn't assist me.

The Pharmacist continued assisting me until his colleague behind the counter told him to stop helping me as I was being difficult.

In the meantime the Manager gathered two security guards to escort me out of the store should I have made a scene. I re-iterate, I have no problem sanitising my hands, BUT, as a large store they should accommodate those persons who's skin is sensitive and provide an alternative.

The way they handled it by being verbally abusive and threatening left a sour taste in my mouth.

I feel it is an invasion of my person to being sprayed at every store I go without knowing the chemicals that I am being sprayed with. Then to be told that it is a Government instruction.

Yet when I go to the pay-point I have to insert my card, enter my pin and the pin-pad isn't cleaned after being used by the person before me, this makes no sense at all.
